Town Centre Patrol

Good afternoon all,

Today whilst on patrol, your town centre neighbourhood team, plus two students, have been doing visible patrols around the area. Officers have been a presence on Riverside, Rochdale Exchange and Yorkshire Street, where officers conducted sweeps for rough sleepers and alcohol consumption, as well as engaging with members of the public and local businesses.

Rough sleepers that we have encountered, have been advised not to be begging and support has been offered to them regarding arranging housing and any other assistance they may require. Drinking alcohol on the town centre is prohibited, and we do take a proactive stance when people are found to be doing so.

After 3pm today, your town centre neighbourhood team will be off duty for two days and will be back in at 2pm on Monday. Please enjoy the wonderful weather, fingers crossed for a positive result tomorrow for the Rochdale vs York game, have a great weekend and stay safe.
